Antonio Conte has revealed that his future as Chelsea manager will become clear after the FA Cup final.
Conte’s future as Chelsea manager is in serious doubt. His relationship with the board is battered and broken, and despite a late surge, it’s still unlikely that the Blues will be playing Champions League football next season.
Nothing is signed and sealed. Conte still has a year remaining on his Chelsea contract. It does appear likely, though, that we will see another manager at the helm come the start of the 2018/19 campaign.
Conte is not focusing on his future, for now. The Italian is only concerned about finishing the season strongly – then there will be time to think about where he will be next term.
The former Juventus boss is quoted by the Telegraph saying:
“This speculation is not important to me because my focus is only to do my work in the best possible way with my players. I am doing this from the start until the end.”
“There are only two weeks and this season will finish, and you will know if there is a different situation or if you see me again next season.”
If I were a betting man, my money would be on Maurizio Sarri holding the reins next term. What’s next for Conte remains to be seen…
